At-a-glance

One of the rare cubs born recently in Indonesia. - Channel One News
Advertising
A rare Sumatran tiger, located in a zoo in western Indonesia, has recently given birth to four cubs. Three of the cubs are healthy and alive, but one of the cubs had not made it. This cub had died immediately after birth.
The reason this happening is so important is because Sumatran tigers are very close to becoming extinct. Many of these reasons are due to continuous deforestation, poaching, and incidents with people.
This type of tiger had been in the numbers of 1,000, but it has lowered to 400. This is a very low number considering that they are almost extinct. Breeding them doesn't have much success at all in captivity. With this, the comeback of this species is very unexpected.
In conclusion, it's obvious that the birth of these three cubs is very important to many because of the rareness, and unexpectancy. Although the numbers of this type of tiger are lowering, they may have a chance of a come back.
