Mr. Leaming grew up in Dodge City. He went to Fort Hays State University where he earned a degree in Physical Education, but he has been teaching history for several years. He has been teaching for a total of 37 years, 23 of them spent here.

Being a teacher was something Mr. Leaming always wanted to do. His brother, who was a teacher as well, also influenced him. He loves woodworking and (surprise!) watching old films. He’s also been seen walking his dog around town early in the morning.

Mr. Leaming is also known for the Abraham Lincoln Award. He gives the award to two of his outstanding history students every year. So don’t forget to bring a pen to class. Or your homework. Or your book. And turn your phone off. (Pay attention, freshmen!)

He was very appreciative of being named Teacher of the Month, saying "I feel very complimented." So next time you see him, pat him on the back and say "Congratulations!"
