On Friday, December 7, Student Government hosted the ninth annual Casa's Got Talent Show. Before the show started, Student Government members set up the stage and equipment including pull-out bleachers, spotlights, curtains, a piano, and sound equipment in the large gym. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., 15 students and six groups performed their talents to a crowd of about 100. While Mr. John Hasdovic entertained the crowd as the Master of Ceremonies, Vice Principal Glen Odabashian, Mr. Robert Leever, and Mr. Brian Roth, judged the show in a style similar to American Idol. Odabashian acted as Randy, Leever was Paula, and Roth was Simon, complete with a British accent. After each performance, the judges rated each act on a scale of one to ten, and listened for the act that received the greatest applause from the crowd. Once all acts performed, the band Forgery won first place and $100, Jasmine Bashenko and Chris St. Peter won second place and $25, and Amber Delarosa won crowd favorite and $50.
"The student government kids do a lot of work," said Mr. Belno Lange. “These kids work incredibly hard and I'm proud of all the work they did."
