A group of 24 students and six proctors from Lexington Catholic made their way to the Trinity campus for an education in the House System.
Their goal was to learn the unique House System that was started at Trinity nine years ago.
This is not the first time an outside party has come to learn about the houses. This is not even the first time a Lexington Catholic representative has made a visit.
Last year they came for a briefing and to see what the houses were all about. Holy Cross’s principal also made a visit a few years back. A school from Atlanta has visited as well.
The Lexington Catholic visitors arrived just before the first bell at 7:45.
They made their way to the rotunda and were each paired with a Trinity host.
The host, along with the Lexington Catholic students and proctors, attended the general house meeting for the month. During one meeting the guests of honor stayed on the sidelines while the Becket Titans filmed their house video.
This spotlighted the system as it showcased teachers and students enjoying time away from the difficulties of the classroom. After the house meetings were called to an end, the hosts led their guests to Convocation Hall were a Q-and-A was held.
When asked about the meeting, House System Director Matt Manning said, “The students gave well-informed answers, and it was good to see the guys give positive answers about the House System.”
This session lasted until about 9:40, when it was time for Lexington Catholic’s representatives to head home.
“Yes, they will most likely implement the House System at Lexington Catholic,” Manning said.
Their system will not be an exact copy of Trinity’s but will be built to meet the needs of their student body.
