What makes Trinity High School unique? Is it the high academic achievement? Or the athletic prominence in practically every sport? While these statements are both true, I’d like to argue that what sets Trinity apart from all other schools is the strong sense of school pride. This year has hosted the best school spirit in years. From record attendance at the Elder football game to participation in marquee events, spirit is what makes Trinity such a great school. So far this year, students have shown a pride in their school unmatched by any year current students have seen. Students have been getting involved in the House system more and student sections at football games are healthier than ever. Having strong pride in your school is essential for a strong high school experience. Spirit is the foundation on which one builds what they get out of a school. If someone is not happy with their school and have pride in it, then they won’t feel like the school is part of them. However, this has never been too much of an issue with Trinity, and this year has been better at taking advantage of all that the school has to offer than many previous years. Although some of the enthusiasm of this year has been taken to a level where some school rules have been bent, the vuvuzelas for example, the spirit behind the actions is the real success. These minor issues should be taken with a grain of salt. The horns are more than just noise. They demonstrate a heightened interest in the school.
