Northshore High School had its annual Student Council elections on Tuesday, April 24th. Listed on the Student Council electoral ballot were as follows: for President-Elect, Terrie Jackson, Emily Mayer, and Adora Anadi; for Treasurer, T.J. D’Angelo and Marshall Wadleigh; for Secretary, Brett Houser and Caroline Wadge; for Parliamentarian, Katie Nash and Raya Islam; and Megan Boyanton for Historian. Terrie Jackson is our new President-Elect, Marshall Wadleigh is our new Treasurer, Brett Houser is our new Secretary, and Raya Islam is our new Parliamentarian. These promising student leaders will represent Northshore proudly and lead with honor.
Aside from Student Council, class elections were also held for the sophomore, junior, and senior classes for the 2012-2013 academic year. Running unopposed for Sophomore President was Hailey Kirkpatrick, and also running unopposed for Treasurer was Lucia Zamudio-Suarez. The Vice-Presidential candidates were Trent Kelley and Samantha Jordan, and Secretarial candidates were Emma Landeche and Kaelyn Evans. Representatives for the sophomore class will be Victoria Stevens, Austin Dugas, Charlee Garcia, and Jamie Hoying. Winners (other than Kirkpatrick and Zamudio-Suarez) were Samantha Jordan and Kaelyn Evans.
For the upcoming junior class, Presidential hopefuls were Hannah Granger, Raven Evans, and Ashleigh Wadleigh. Running unopposed for Vice-President was Phoebe Castro, and running unopposed for Secretary was Kristen Bertel. Candidates for Treasurer were Brittany Kastner and Nick Petras, and Representatives are Ashley Ramirez, Alyssa Carroll, Katie Parks, Sophie LaBella, Dooyeol Kim, Scott Kent, and Jade Bushell. Winners (besides Castro and Bertel) were Hannah Granger, and Brittany Kastner.
The senior class campaigning was fierce this year between Presidential candidates Meara McNitt and Skylar Erickson. Shirley Morrow ran unopposed for Vice President, and Anna Hoying ran unopposed for Treasurer. Kaela Brand and Jessica Black competed for the title of Senior Class Secretary. Representatives for the 2012-2013 school year are as follows: Kina Smedstad, Mallory Patorno, Brittany Williams, Marissa Oster, Bronson Fong, and Justin Corollo. Winners were Meara McNitt and Kaela Brand.
All those who ran against their fellow students campaigned well and are commended on their efforts. The Student Council and Class Leaders are congratulated on their new positions.
