Every year in Las Vegas since 1979, the National Association of Italian Festivals and the Italian American Association put on the San Gennaro Festival. The San Gennaro Festival is home to Las Vegas’s very own "Little Italy."

The festival comes to Las Vegas twice a year; they come in May and again in September. The general admission is $8, and $7 for senior citizens. This did not include the wristband which is also another $25 on weekdays and $30 on weekends.

This year, from May 9 to May 13, roughly one thousand people a day flocked to the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino.

"The festival rents out our parking lot to hold their event. We have no problem letting it happen they bring us a lot of business," the secretary of the COO at Rio stated.

With live Italian music performed by a variety of groups, comedy acts, carnival games, freshly-made Italian cuisine, dozens of vendor booths to shop at and plenty of family and thrill rides, the feast are quite popular among high school students. It is a chance to gather with friends and have fun.

Teens and families all over the city look forward to San Gennaro all year long. While walking through the festival, the sound of up-beat Italian instruments and the smell of peppers and sausage fill the air.

There were vendor booths with bracelets, phone cases, bags, t-shirts, bathing suits, sunglasses and even more. The San Gennaro festival allows vendors rent out space to sell their items . San Gennaro also gives out incentives for people to come.

On the first day in May, mothers got to ride for free, and on the first day in September, everyone will get to enjoy a free fireworks show.

Whether its for the exciting rides, the fresh food, or the great shopping, San Gennaro is a treat for all!
