Lenoir City jumped out to a 13-0 lead which proved to be too tall a mountain to climb for Farragut as they fell 26-21. Responsibility for the loss falls equally to the defense and offense with turnovers coming in bunches and Panther (QB) Jordan Hall shredding the Admirals for over 400 yards.
The Panthers came out firing on all cylinders as they drove straight down the field scoring on a run from (WR, RB) Camion Patrick from two yards out. Farragut’s first possession ended early with a Johnson fumble that gave Lenoir city short field position. They capitalized quickly and Hall found (WR) Lucas Wilson in the end zone for a touchdown, but (K) Dakota Vincil missed the extra point giving the Admirals an early 13-0 deficit.
Farragut fought back on their next possession with a drive that culminated in a Johnson touchdown run with just a few seconds remaining in the first quarter. They then forced the Panthers to punt and again drove down the field with ease scoring on a five yard touchdown run from Johnson giving the Admirals 14-13 lead.
The rest of the quarter saw Hall throw an interception and a Farragut turnover on downs.
The Admirals received in the second half and were forced to punt after three plays. Lenoir City was threatening inside the ten when a pass was tipped from Hall and intercepted by Johnson.
Farragut again succumbed after three plays and punted, but this time the Panthers finished what they started, scoring on a quarterback scamper from two yards out making the score 14-20.
Johnson broke free on the next possession and sprinted down the sideline all the way to the two yard line where he was forced out. The next play he dashed up the middle for the score making it 21-20.
Hall was intercepted on the following drive for Lenoir City, but the Admirals were unable to capitalize. King, did however, pin them in with a beautiful punt to the one yard line. The following play Hall launched a bomb to Patrick who broke multiple tackles on the way to a 99 yard touchdown that ended up being the deciding points.
Farragut had four opportunities to score in the fourth quarter, but threw two interceptions and ended up losing by the score of 26-21.
The loss drops the Admirals to (6-3) and (4-2) in district. Farragut will host William Blount on senior night next week as they try to end their two game skid.
