Daini Fifer is a sophomore at Meridian Medical Arts Charter High School (MMACHS). When Mr. Herdegen, the counselor at MMACHS, came to Fifer's middle school, she decided to come to this high school because she wants to be in the medical field.
Fifer is excited to be at a small school the focused around medicine. She states that she is a “social person and I talk a lot. I like the one and one time with the teachers.” She also enjoys that there is a small amount of drama.
Some advice Fifer gives to the freshman is “do your homework.” She also said that if you’re not going to study, you shouldn’t be here. Sophomore year is easier then freshman year, Fifer says, because she knows what is expected and she understands the teachers better.
Fifer was involved in cheerleading for a few years but then turned her interest to music. When she learned that no music classes offered at MMACHS, she decided to start a Glee Club. Fifer is using this club to be used as a way to get more people involved in Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). They have already performed at a HOSA brunch singing Christmas carols. They are planning to perform for the talents show at the end of the year. There are about 7-10 people performing at one time.
Fifer is a contributing greatly to our school is an outstanding student by creating a club that will bring out the students in our school. It also provides a time to strengthen friendships. Fifer sums up MMACHS and her experience here with “Best school ever. It was hard to like it, but now I love it.”
