Holiday Shopping Night
Wednesday, Nov. 30, Watertown Middle School, 6-9 p.m.
The annual holiday event offers something for shoppers of all ages, as well as live performances, and pizza and baked goodies to benefit the WMS PTO.
Bags 2 School fund-raiser
Thursday, Dec. 1, Watertown Middle School cafeteria, 7:30-8:30 a.m.
The WMS PTO has arranged for another Bags 2 School donation fund-raiser. People can give their gently used clothing, shoes, stuffed animals, bedding, drapery, backpacks, linens, drapes, purses or other textiles, and the PTO will receive much-needed funds for each pound donated. (Please place all donations in garbage bags.)
School Dance
Friday, Dec. 2, Watertown Middle School cafeteria, 7-10 p.m.
The second dance of the fall will be held under the disco ball in the cafeteria, and will again be chaperoned by the staff of the Watertown Boys and Girls Club. Tickets are $6 each and will be sold at lunch this week.
WMS Winter Concert
Tuesday, Dec. 6, Watertown Middle School auditorium, 7 p.m.
The annual free event showcases the best of the WMS music program, including its award-winning chorus.
Candidates Night
Tuesday, Dec. 6, Chenery Middle School, 95 Washington St., Belmont, 7:30 p.m.
The League of Women Voters of Watertown and Belmont are holding an open forum for the candidates for the Second Suffolk and Middlesex Senate seat. The free event comes a week before the Dec. 13 primary.
“A Christmas Story”
Dec. 11 through Dec. 24, Arsenal Center for the Arts
New Rep and arsenalARTS presents the seasonal classic, based on the 1983 movie. “A Christmas Story” will take audiences back to Hohman, Ind., in the 1940s, where they will meet Ralphie Parker during his quest for an official Red Ryder air rifle.
