President of the Antelope Parent Boosters Club, Susan Garofalo, holds up the final ticket for the first place prize of a brand new 2010 Honda Civic at the Titans’ last football game of the season. “And the first place winner, for the 2010 Honda Civic is, Andy Litz.”

“When I received the call from Susan Garofalo for the booster club I was really surprised,” Litz said. “The first thing I thought of when she called back was ‘Where did I put the ticket stubs?’ because I did not know whether I would need them or not.”

Litz bought his ticket as he was visiting Antelope High for his grandson, who is on the freshman team for Foothill as they played us, the Titans. He was going to get a bottle of water when he spotted the car; he purchased 5 tickets to support our school.
The second place winner for $250 was Dan Vansquez.

“I was extremely excited,” Vansquez said, “but I wish I could have gotten first.”

The third place winner, for $100 was Tom Bell.

“I had a lucky feeling, “Bell said. “As soon as I heard them say my first name I said that has got to be me. I couldn’t believe it, it was great.”

Todd Stamps from Carmichael Honda approached the APB and offered the Booster Club a car to raffle off. This way he would be the Antelope High School preferred car dealer for the new AHS drivers to purchase their cars.

The tickets were sold for five dollars each, and to enter the raffle a person had to be at least 18 years of age. Very few students were able to purchase tickets unless they were from a different school with a senior class. However, many of their parents purchased tickets so they could win a car for their student.

APB did a lot of selling; they sold tickets at the Sunrise Park and Recreation Tennis event, at the Bel Air parking lot, at the freshman game, and before the raffle at half-time.

All of the money donated for the raffle will go towards the stadium snack bar and restrooms. It benefits the school and its students.
