The boys baseball team is off to rocky start. They are currently 12-13-1 while 7-2 in conference play. They have started to play together as a team. They have beaten conference foe Johnsburg twice in a double header and Genoa-Kingston. Dan Lund said “we have started to get our act together at the plates with our bats and our pitching is starting to come around.” They have a pretty tough schedule coming up in the next month and a half. They will have to play Rockford Boylan in a double header, and all of their conference foes like Winnebago and Byron. It will be a tough road ahead, but with a little perseverance they can get through it.

Mike Nelson has been one of the standouts on the mound along with Ben Easter. They have pitched well and hopes they can continue their momentum through the rest of the season and into the Regional tournament. Jeff Dickey is also off to a good start. He is the starting first baseman and has done a great job with the bat. Brian Coulter is having a good year behind the plate, Jacob Kling has had an incredible season with the glove, and Andy Venstrom is having a great season on the mound pitching, on the defensive end at shortstop, and at the plate with his bat. With the team having a fairly good season and good players, they will be hard to stop this postseason.
