Halloween is here! Costumes, pumpkins, and trick-or-treating. People were not allowed to dress up for Halloween at school, but people still showed their spirit. Orange covered Standley Middle School! Halloween is great but when you can’t express yourself in school, it dies down the moment. Halloween is fun, but we should’ve been able to dress up for Halloween. Some people did to show their spirit, enthusiasm, and their awesome costumes. The no-costumes at school on Halloween is hard to follow. To start the Halloween spirit on Friday Mr. Moore’s dance advisory and some of his P.E students preformed the dance by Michael Jackson, “Thriller.” People should be able to have fun and show off themselves on Halloween. Hailey Irwin thinks, “Halloween costumes should be worn as long as you’re not showing off,” because she thinks you should have Halloween spirit. Halloween is a fun holiday, so it should be expressed. I understand that Halloween costumes can be a distraction but you should be able to show a little spirit like a small homemade costume or something. I know the first thing you think about when you hear Halloween is probably, FREE CANDY! It is. But, Halloween is just like another holiday to have a fun time! Although we can’t wear a costume we can all have fun still getting all the great candy! Let’s all show our Halloween spirit!
