There are times when you are hungry or you are in the mood for a snack and then you see a vending machine. You look for a dollar bill in your wallet. After you have found it, you then insert it and you press the number for the snack you want. Later, you open your snack and you start eating it. After you have finished, you toss the bag and a few days later you find yourself doing the same thing over again. The vending machine is like a gift to hungry people everywhere.
One of those vending machines is now in my school, The Young Women’s Leadership School of Astoria. Since the vending machine has arrived it has been well known that it can only be used before school starts and after school finishes. The vending machine is so popular that it has students’ fingerprints on it. The students at TYWLS of Astoria buy snacks whenever the vending machine is open. The vending machine has a time schedule for when it is available to be used. Sometimes the students get so impatient that they get crowded around it like the vending machine is a celebrity. The snacks inside the vending machine are mostly chips and bars. The well known snack is the kettle corn popcorn.
Sometimes the vending machine has technical difficulties. The cookies get stuck a lot and the custodian, Anthony, sometimes has to try to get it out. Each of the snacks costs a dollar and the machine only accepts dollar bills. Snacks that are inside the vending machine only cost 1 dollar, except apple chips which cost 1 dollar and 50 cents. The vending machine is now like the new special person and it is the 1st vending machine that was open here at TYWLS of Astoria. Despite the annoyances previously mentioned, the vending machine is a welcome addition to our cafeteria.
