A team made of spirit, happiness, and dancers. Poms, a first place national’s squad, is working hard to bring Arvada another year of award-winning dances. “I believe that we will do excellent at this year’s competition. We have been cleaning rigorously to ensure we are at our best every single game,” said Alex Perez, Poms Dancer. The team is planning on bringing us an extraordinary dance for the Homecoming game.

  Perez is the first boy to ever make it onto the Poms team. “I’m very excited and honored to be the first and only guy on the team. I wouldn’t doubt that people make comments about it but I do not let it affect me. I’ll keep working hard to maintain the expectations of the team,” said Perez

  The team works hard to maintain a clean image, and be role-models for students at the school as well as the pee-wee dancers. Perez said, “Teaching the pee-wees is a fun experience, they are fun to teach and are eager learners.”

  As recent first place national’s winners, they are working on maintaining their award-winning dances.  “We have a great theme and are very excited to be attending nationals again,” said Perez. Songs included in some of their upcoming routines are: Kulo and Nation Army.

  Poms Dancer, Afua Antwi said, “My favorite thing is being able to perform at games and having school spirit.” Poms is preparing an extravagant dance for all to see at the Homecoming game. Let’s bring our spirit, show our support, and make sure we watch out for another award-winning year of Poms dancing.
