School can be exciting, and fun, but like almost everything, there are downsides to getting through the years as a Taylor High School student. Everyone has their own weaknesses, leading to their own struggles in maintaining grades, and doing well. But what are they? How many students have most trouble in keeping up with homework? How many students can’t seem to ever get good grade on tests, or quizzes? After asking several Taylor High School students of all grades what they think about grades and maintaining A’s and B’s, people have stated their comments, concerns, weaknesses, and what comes easily to them.

First of all, most of the students who have been asked what they struggle with have stated that tests are always a hassle. It’s not a question of whether or nor not they exactly ‘unprepared,’ it’s the fact that some people don’t have a long enough span to deal with the time a test can take up, or they lose focus. There is studying and preparation to make it a whole lot easier, but the students think that it’s just more difficult because tests are unpredictable and it’s sometimes hard to tell the type of questions or problems that are going to be on it. You can never be fully prepared a lot, even in knowing the material, when it comes to certain tests.

Then there are the students who can’t seem to keep up with homework. Some students either forget about homework, don’t feel the need or motivation to do it, or they can’t do the homework properly. It’s all a matter of focus, but after asking people at Taylor High School, many of them have disorders, like ADD, that hinder focus, and concentration can be very difficult to achieve with, with or without medicine. It’s not impossible, but it just takes step by step to figure it out.

So now the real question is how can students achieve better grades? When I asked Taylor Students what they thought about this, they said that homework could be reduced a little bit, they could get more sleep during each night for better focus, they could use their time wisely, prepare for tests more, get a tutor, or even just find better ways of concentration.

But Taylor is known for achieving, so students could work to make their grades better. However it’s a great benefit that there are many students on the honor roll and with good grades already, so not as many people have to work on things. Overall, Taylor High School has very educated students who work hard all the time to make things possible.
