How do students at Taylor High School unwind from a bad day? Where exactly do they go once the last bell rings at 2:36?

Everybody has different social lives outside of high school, and the other activities typically include work, extracurricular activities, and going to favorite places to hang out with friends and relax after work or school.

In teenage years, the schedules of students get busier by the minute. Students at Taylor High School have been asked the simple question “What do you do outside of school?”

Those at Taylor who do not have a job always have something fun or exciting going on or at least some of the time. Who likes to just sit around and only do homework? After asking several students, the list of hot spots included the various Cincinnati-area malls, skating parks (Delhi, Lawrenceberg), Bloc House (an after school hang out in Cleves), The Underground (a teen club), Chipotle, a bowling alley (many prefer Western Bowl), any area park, Kings Island , and many more. Anything involving friends, time out of house and time away from school can be a good, exciting time.

Everybody has their own definition of fun, but some people have to work instead to make money for college and their future ahead of them.

Many of the students at Taylor work in areas around Cleves, and other areas close by, such as in Delhi and Western Hills. The main locations where students work are Kroger, Skyline, LaRosas, Sullivan’s, Kohl’s, Creamy Whip, Subway, and a few other various restaurants and department stores.

Do their jobs affect how they do in school, however? Most seem to think that jobs are a great way to gain experience and prepare themselves for the real world all while earning a paycheck, but some don’t like the working environment but need to do it anyways. Many students agree that it can stall them from school work sometimes, and it gives them less free time, but the money for college is worth it in several people’s opinions.

Many students want to get away from THS completely, but there is always some part of school in regular schedules for students at Taylor High School, whether it is homework, projects, extracurricular, and students getting involved with some event in the district.

Rgeardless of the school-related activities, students like to kick back and relax, letting school slip their minds for a while.
