Wake up, go to school, do work, get home, do homework, then sleep. This is the basic routine most students go through five days a week. Just going through a normal week can be a tough challenge because of life's obstacles. Most push through to finally be able to relax on the weekend.
Guess again. On the weekend most students are catching up on work or projects that they did not have time to do during the week. A student rarely gets the full nine and a half hours of sleep every teenager needs in order to function properly on a daily basis.
Stress is a part of everyone's life whether we want it to be or not. Students, parents, teachers, you name it, all are stressed. Possible symptoms of stress include headaches, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, depression, grinding teeth, mood swings, dizziness, stuttering, social withdrawal, increased alcohol and drug use, feeling of worthlessness, and confusion.
If these are some of the leading symptoms of stress why are we putting so on the students, workers, and teachers when we want these people to be productive. By putting so much pressure on students, we are hurting our own society and not allowing them to reach their full potential.
Time management skills are the key to surviving in modern day society. Quick thinking is constantly necessary. Even with this idea though, don't forget to stop and smell the roses every once in a while.
Many people tend to get stuck in the future, always thinking about what is coming next. The future is important, but it is also important to enjoy what you have right now, something that you might not have in the future. It is good to take a little "you" time to relax. This will relieve some of the stress and create a feeling of contentment.
