Tebow has his critics, but his team just keeps winning

Tim Tebow is the reason why the Denver Broncos are sitting in first place in the AFC West division. He has five second-half comebacks this season, four of them coming in the fourth quarter, and yet critics discount the wins for coming against “crappy” teams.

It seems like the cool thing to do right now is bash Tim Tebow. The new starting quarterback does what no one else had been able to do for the Broncos for a long time. Tebow just wins, but many people pick on him for being so vocal about his religious beliefs.

Tebow even received criticism from the great John Elway, former Super Bowl-winning Denver quarterback and current Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the team.  Another former Bronco quarterback, Jake Plummer, is also on record as not being a Tebow fan.

Everyone else, from great past QBs to football analysts insists Tebow can’t keep doing it, leading the Broncos to thrilling finishes, yet he continues to strive and could possibly take the Broncos to the playoffs this year for the first time since 2005.

Elway mentioned that Tebow, a second-year pro, needs to get better on his third-down conversions and his passing, which is understandable because his completion percentage is 47.5 percent.

But his winning percentage this year is 87.5 percent second only to Aaron Rodgers who is 13-0, so being a good passer apparently isn’t needed to be a winning quarterback.

Tebow agreed with this statement, Elway had a point and Tebow does need to get better, which shows how humble Tebow is, and how determined he is to continue to get better. That makes him an easy person to root for, just seems like a good guy so there would be no reason not to like this man.
Tebow was able to show the leadership and ability in college, winning two national championships at Florida. Now he’s winning in the NFL and people still doubt this man. They say he’s too big or doesn’t have a conventional throwing motion.

Carolina rookie quarterback Cam Newton is another college star who critics predicted would not be successful in the NFL, yet he has made the Panthers an offensive powerhouse.

The real issues with Tebow are that many people are uncomfortable with him showing his Christian faith. He is very vocal about his beliefs and kneels and appears to pray after wins and touchdowns. Plummer, for instance, said Tebow shows his faith too much, that’s why he doesn’t think too highly of him.

Since when has it been a crime to get down on your knee and thank God? Lots of players do it, but since Tebow is showing his faith and being successful, he is taking the heat. Tebow’s success sure does look like its coming from above because despite his horrible completion percentage he drives the team in the fourth quarter and leads  team to victory.

Could it be possible that he has divine favor on him? He brought a pitiful team that was, off to a 1-4 start to the season to a team that now has a chance to win the division and go to the playoffs.

Critics are sure that the winning may not last, but Tebow might just prove everyone wrong this season. Maybe he can pull off a David and Goliath story and beat the still undefeated and defending champion Packers in the Super Bowl in February, if the Packers make it, which is something few doubt.

Tebow MVP? Seems like it if he continues this performance until the end of the season because he is a major reason why the Broncos are winning along with their superb defense that keeps them in the game.

Great article, there is no reason for anyone to hate him, but everyone hates a winner. Who do we want children looking up to, players who are in gangs, or players who are constantly giving thanks to the man above. I am a 17 year old girl, and I feel like I understand it better than all these critics who look down upon him, he wins games, and at the end of the day, all you see is the W, not his passing percentage.
