Want to cheer for PHS? Pay $5 and students can root for their fellow Trojans.

Five dollars for entry to a high school sporting event is understandable for parents and others who are not from the school. High school students, on the other hand, get discouraged knowing that the Wolverine Conference requires them to pay $5 out of thier pocket.

“Big student sections help teams win. Paying for games is a big deterrent and with cheaper or free admission, we would have bigger, better student sections,” says Emerson Talanda-Fisher 11’.

Having a great crowd helps teams to know there is support behind them, chanting their names and pushing them to victory.

School pride and unity would increase if students weren’t charged with a $5 fee to attend a game played by their own peers.

Students with jobs and fellow athletes are giving up the little free time they have to support PHS athletic events. They can’t be expected to have $10 to $15 a week to spend.

Simply lowering the prices or making it free for students to go to their own athletic events will rise the attendance level, thus encouraging and creating more Trojan victories.

 In the end, this change in ticket prices will create a more pride stricken school, that can possibly help our teams to strive for better records.
