The GCS Hawk’s basketball season is at its peak as the team gets closer to regionals.

Tim Marshall, a shooting guard on the team, said that they are improving and that their teamwork is better in the little things like passing. But he also said that they need to work on playing with their eyes. Also he said that they need to make better decisions on the court.

The Hawks have an arsenal of players such as John Mohajer, Reagan Koschel, Anthony Cape, and Ben Marshall,

The Hawks have their share of rivals, but they are beatable ones. So far Laurens Academy is their biggest win, and Spartanburg Christian their biggest rivals and largest loss. These teams can be beat, but the Hawks have to train hard and play smart.

The Hawk’s season has been looking great so far with a 9-7 overall record and a 2-2 league record. Last year their overall record was 14-9 with a league record of 5-1.

The Hawks have seven more games this season. If they win all of these upcoming games they will have beaten their 14-9 record, making this year’s record 16-7.

The Hawks have one more game this week against Spartanburg Day on Friday January 20. This team has defeated us already this season, but at this game we will have a home court advantage.

So far Oakbrook Prep has been our biggest win in the season, but we plan on beating our rivals, Spartanburg Christian Academy. We beat Spartanburg 68-67 last year, our first time in seven years.
