The diamond planet is a great discovery and will not be one of the last to be discovered. - Israeli Diamond

If
the moon is made of cheese, then there must be diamonds in the sky. Astronomers
recently discovered that there is a new planet in our galaxy that is made up entirely
of diamonds.
“I
want to go there and get some diamonds,” says senior Courtney Marafioti. If
only going to the planet and back was possible, but unfortunately this planet
is located 4,000 light years away. To put this into perspective one light year
is 5.8 trillion miles away.
This
rare planet is made of carbon and has a very high density level. Scientists believe that the planet is
crystallized, which means it’s a huge diamond planet. It is said that the
planet had outer layers from the core, but lost them while orbiting its Pulsar.
A
Pulsar is a speedy star that rotates 10,000 times per minute, but is only 12.4
kilometers in diameter. The pulsar gave off beams that had irregular movements
which led to scientists to believe that there was another planet there and thus
found the diamond planet. Without this one small star this new planet would not
have been found.
Science has had
many great advances. The diamond planet is a great discovery and will not be
one of the last ones that science will come across.
