On Friday, January 16, several graduates from the Class of 2008 returned to Jonathan Law to provide advice to and answer questions from the current students of Law.

This "Welcome Back Graduates" program was held in the Senior Cafeteria during third and fourth periods.

"The returning graduates can offer a unique perspective on the first semester of college," said National Honors Society advisor Mrs. Bouchard. "The questions and information given out is different from what you’d find while applying for college."

National Honors Society has been in charge of the Welcome Back Graduates event for more than 10 years. While traditionally featuring former National Honors Society members, the list of returning graduates was very diverse.

Returning graduates included Joe Forzano, Matt Glennon, Mollie Manzi, Kevin Fox, Mike Ha, Mel Massey, Victoria Bjorklund, Naz KhajoueeNejad and Chuck Mastrianna.

These college freshmen provided insight into what life in a dorm is like and what Law students can do to prepare for the experience.

"Despite having been in charge of the event for several years I still hear things I would have never thought to tell students," said Mrs. Bouchard. "The advantage of the event is that it better prepares students for a new atmosphere." One piece of advice given at the event was that students should discuss what temperature they would like their dorm room to be and agree on a compromise with their fellow dorm-mates.

"I think Welcome Back graduates is a great opportunity for everyone involved," said senior and National Honors Society member Ryan P. "You can get a unique perspective about college life, ask questions and receive answers that you don’t get from colleges themselves."

To increase attendance and the variety of graduates attending invitations were sent via social networking website Facebook.

"I was surprised by the lack of need for a car that was generally agreed upon," said Junior and event attendee Tim F.
