Nothing is what it seems on Shutter Island.
Set in 1954, U.S. Marshall Teddy Daniels takes on an assignment involving the disappearance of mentally ill patient, Rachel Solando. Solando, a patient yet prisoner in the bleak and desolate asylum commonly referred to as Ashecliffe Hospital has escaped from her locked cell. Slipping by fellow prisoners and prison guards, like a ghost.
Daniels, accompanied by new partner Chuck Aule, travel by ferry to the dreaded shores of Shutter Island. Where they interrogate the sane and the insane, yet find no hopes of finding their missing patient.
With time running out and a storm ready to hit, Daniels fights to uncover the truth. However, the truth is nothing close to what it seems.  Dennis LeHane will take readers on an adventure they never saw coming.  With unexpected twists and an ending that can leave one breathless, “Shutter Island” will make readers thankful for their sanity.
