UNICEF stands for United Nations Children's Fund. The organization helps raise money for underprivileged children in third world countries. Cardozo has a UNICEF club that meets every Monday, 9th and 10th period. The goals of UNICEF are to improve the community through community service and to participate in walks. Just recently they participated in a Breast Cancer walk and there will be many more to come. Benefits that come with being in this club include a certificate, an activity to put on your college application, and credit for every event you attend.

The only prerequisite for this club is an S.O. card. If you love helping others, you’ll be a great fit in it. Many students sign up because UNICEF has an exceptional reputation among people all over the world, due to its commitment to aiding the less fortunate. There are over 30 members, and plenty of room for others. "We try to make meetings short and sweet. We try to have a bit of fun and get all members the info they need to know," Club President Sasha Fountain said. During the club session, the president writes something on the board and the members begin a discussion. These discussions cover a broad range of topics, from future club events to different methods of raising money.

   UNICEF is filled with students that feel obligated to help the less fortunate. If you are looking for a club that helps out the international community and children in need all over the world, feel free to join.
