Food Drive:

  During the month of November, COSA, Beth Kierez, along with the S.O. leadership class held a canned food drive for City Harvest.  The students of Cardozo contributed to this drive in order to raise a large amount of food. “We donated 2,500 lbs of food to the New York area,” said Ms. Kierez. 

Toy Drive:

  Most of us receive gifts for Christmas from our parents, grandparents, or friends, but what about the ones who are not fortunate enough to receive even one present?  Well, that is why Cardozo hosted a Toy Drive during the week of December 5th.  The toys were donated to St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital in Bayside.  “We wanted to stay local this year and help those children have a happy holiday,” said Ms. Kierez.  The students and staff of Cardozo donated over 200 new toys for the kids.  In addition, some toys that were
collected will be donated to Toys for Tots.
In the Spirit of Christmas giving, this was
the perfect drive to hold for the holiday
season.

Coat Drive:

  During the winter, coats are 
definitely a necessity.  That's
why Cardozo hosted a coat drive
during the week of December 12th.
The Green Cross Club also took
part in the drive. “Our goal is to
collect over 200 coats to give
families in need this winter,” said
the S.O. leadership class."

  The PETA club, also known as the animal rights club, held an animal food/toy drive during the week of December 19th. The drive was intended for animals in need.
