In the movie 'The Avengers," Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D., has to bring together a group of superheroes to form The Avengers. He brings them together to stop Loki and his army from destroying Earth.
To be caught up with this movie you have to have seen The Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 1, Iron Man 2, Captain America, and Thor. All of these characters come together to form The Avengers and all of the movies they’re in is their background story. These superhumans are all different and have different issues that you will see in "The Avengers."
Loki is Thor’s brother. In the end of Thor, Loki admits defeat and makes himself fall off the end of the Bifrost Bridge. Loki lived through it and has come back to destroy Earth. Together, Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawk Eye have to come together to stop Loki.
The movie stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark, Chris Evans as Captain America/Steve Rogers, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk/Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Director Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts. Quite a list of major actors to be playing in one movie together.
