On Wednesday, December 22nd, the kindergarteners eagerly presented their annual Holiday Program in the high school auditorium. The program was presented twice; at 10 a.m. for the elementary school and at 2 p.m. for the kindergarteners’ parents. This special presentation was started thirty years ago by Mrs. Say and Mrs. Keth, who are both now retired. Each program is original every year; created by Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Faulk, and Mrs. Cyphert. The students begin practicing right after Halloween for 45 minutes every day and they even get to use props which they create themselves. One very important aspect of this show is that the teachers make sure that every child has a part.
Many classic Christmas songs were performed for all to enjoy, such as Away in a Manger, Here Comes Santa Clause and All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth. Another fun song they did was Jingle Bells, which even incorporated the use of wooden sticks. They also presented a poem titled What Can I Give Him. During the morning performance, the elementary school greatly supported their kindergarteners by singing along loudly and enthusiastically to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. When asked what her favorite song was, kindergartener Jaclyn Henry said, “My favorite is All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth because I just lost my two front teeth!”. Holden Sparks said his favorite part of the show was that he “loved singing in front of everyone.” All kindergarteners said they were very excited to perform for their parents. The program was very cheerful, cute, and uplifting. Let’s give a round of applause to our little performers!
