The movie “Never Back Down” is an emotional thriller that leaves you on the edge of your seat the entire time. It goes from depressing to happy, and you never know what is going to happen next.

Jake Tyler, who is played by Sean Faris, is just a normal kid living in Iowa until his younger brother gets a scholarship to play tennis in Orlando, Florida. His mother made him move because he has no father. When he arrives at his new school he has a hard time fitting in because they have different interests.

Jake’s father died because he was drinking and driving one night. Jake got in the car with his father and feels that it was all his fault that he let him drive. This comes back to haunt him many times throughout the movie. For instance Jake was playing football back in Iowa, where he used to live, and when someone mentioned his father, Jake gave the guy a heavy blow to the face knocking him out.

In Orlando people find out about this incident and it catches the attention of a two-time boxing champion at his school. When Jake is invited to a party the boxing champion challenges him to a match which Jake does not want to fight. Once again Jake is faced with yet another person who is talking badly about his father. This pushes him over the edge, and he begins to fight.

The fight does not go in favor of Jake and leaves him badly hurt with bruises and cuts all over his body. Jake finds out that the boy he was fighting was the boyfriend of the girl that he met and liked. The next day at school Jake sees the girl and she tries to talk to him. He just blows her off because he says he is not interested in her. He meets a kid that is into boxing but wants to be Jake’s friend.

One day Jake’s friend takes him to a fight club where he learns to fight. He learns from the best and begins to understand the strategies of boxing. After a fight with random people on the street, he gets kicked out of the boxing club. The instructor does not allow what he teaches to be used on the streets. When he gets accepted back into the club, he puts his mind to it and works hard to become a better fighter.

When the boxing champion hurts Jake’s friend, Jake decides he has had enough with this guy and sets out to fight him. Jake enterd s boxing competition, and he fights a lot of people to make it to the championship round to fight this kid.

He finds out that the kid was disqualified and Jake decides to quit the championship round. He then finds the kid in the parking lot and they have a boxing match right there. It ends up in favor of Jake, and along the way he finds out who his true friends and family are. This movie is heart warming, and it leaves you with a good feeling.
