The Fort Dodge boys swim used a team effort as an advantage, and they proved how good their team is Monday night with a 91-79 victory over Waukee.

The Dodgers won first-place in seven of their 11 events, along with five second-place events and four third-place finishes.

The Dodgers, who are undefeated in their home pool this season, have won five consecutive meets, running their overall record 6-2.

Fort Dodge started the meet with a 200 medley relay, with a foursome of Joe Bruen, Cal Brandt, Colin Pearson and Jim McCormack and earned first place with a time of 1:46.23.

Pearson was in for the next event also, the 200 free, winning his second of three top performances with a time of 1:53.21.

McCormack also earned a first-place medal for the Dodgers with a 23:40 in the 50 free, prior to winning the 100 free two events later with a 52:12.

Senior Josh Lennon won the 500 free with a time of 5:35.98, before swimming for first place in the 200 yard free relay along with Bruen, Pearson and McCormack.

The 400 yard free relay was the last event of the evening. The Dodgers needed a second place finish to win the meet. The relay squad of Lennon, Brandt, Josh Lee and Austin Sanford took a quick lead and finished first giving the Dodgers an amazing five-meet winning streak.
