How did the first half of the season go ?

We learned a lot and gained some important experience. If we had shot a little better we could have won a few more, but 3-3 was not a bad start.

What are your expectations for the rest of the regular season?

We set some goals at the beginning of the year and one of them was to win the conference. I would expect that all of the players will continue to work hard on their skills and decision making so that we can achieve them.

How are you working toward having post-season success?

We are trying to improve on the offenses and defenses we have learned already and adding a few new plays and sets so we are not predictable.

What is this year’s squad doing differently to have more success?

Both the juniors and seniors made themselves better basketball players when they practiced during the summers, played games when they were younger, and spent their free time shooting out on the driveway or at the courts. Basketball players are not made from November to March but the other seven months of the year.

Are you still feeling pressure to turn the program around?

I don’t think there’s pressure to turn things around because I don’t think we needed a complete overhaul. At the high school level you don’t recruit so you work with the players you have. Some years you are going to have shooters, some years you’re not. The pressure I feel this year is because we have more tools and I am putting the pressure on myself.
