Opinions. They all matter at some point, right or wrong. But opinions on social networking are endlessly different. Some say that it’s good because you can know what’s going on with the world, people you know, or celebrities you like to follow. Others say that it’s a terrible waste of time. It’s better to be social with people verbally. But is social networking really ruining our society? It depends on the person. Alexhairston.com has come up with a few reason why social networking is healthy for our society.
Number 1: Friendship/status-There are a lot of networks on the internet that promote friendship, take a break, travel partners, and even a spouse. The main reason for these is to help people from around the world to meet, get to know eachother, and possibly share their lives with eachother. Such sights are Orkut, Hi5, Facebook, and Match.com. People find others like them, or add people as friends just by their profile pictures. Is this okay? It depends on how the person is. A lot of people have found soul mates and friends from these sites.
Number 2: NIS- There are some social networking sites for EU matters, or specific categories to predict. For example, if you intend to find an old friend, co-worker, or school mate, you can check out specific social networking sites that may exactly where you want to be. If you Google a specific name, you will most likely get a ton of links to people with that same name, and their facebooks. Or, if you look on YellowPages.com, you could instantly find their phone number and address. This might sound creepy but it could definitely come in use sometimes.
Number 3: Outsourcing- If someone is looking for a specific job, then this is the thing to do. There are several social networks in a niche that programmers continue, editors, graphic design professionals, medical transcriptionist, etc. Social networking sites can be used as sources for special needs. If someone wants to find a job, there is most likely a site that tells them what other web pages to check out that will either help them find a job, or give one to them, or give information about different types of jobs to look at.
These are just a few of the pros of social networking.
