Many know this scenario all too well: it is a Saturday afternoon; all of your other peers are off having fun, while you sit at home, pick your nose and stare at the fly on the wall. You possess no friends to go off and have fun with. You are lonely. What is there to do when you are all alone? You may think nothing and hit your head against the wall; however, this is entirely wrong! Having fun and being happy does not require having friends. There are many things to do without friends and in the process of doing those amazing things, friends can be gained.
Video games are a fantastic way to be able to have fun and practice hand-eye coordination. Someone can do this alone. Xbox Live is a great example of being interactive with others one may not know and still be able to have fun in the process! If you do not have friends, because you have immersed yourself in the gaming world, put down the controller, get fresh air and never return.
Getting a job will lessen the loneliness you feel. It is a great way to make friends and build moral character. Granted, not every job is amazing or fun, however, it is truly a wonderful way to build social skills, and condition one’s self not to have a heart attack when talking with people. It is an interactive way to gain the confidence one would need to speak to people.
Part of moving on from a problem is wondering how the problem came to exist. It may involve soul searching. One must ask themselves why they do not have friends. Is there an issue with confidence or shyness? Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is stretching out and talking to people. You may not know someone but going up and saying hi is not hard at all. With a few words (more and more everyday) a wonderful friendship can be established!
Eventually, friends will come. It is really quite simple! There are very nice people out there, I promise. There is a disclaimer, however. Choose the right people to talk to. This guide advises from trying to conform and doing drugs. Never do drugs to get friends; you’ll be right back where you started, friendless and alone. I wish you the best of luck in search of a friend and there are friendly people out there! Remember, it just takes time to find them.
