I think it is safe to say that most Americans find gas prices outrageous. And compared to some foreign states such as Venezuela, with gas prices at .18 cents per gallon, it is ridiculous! The national average from a study taken in February 2012 was $3.79 per gallon in the US. Depending on the vehicle you drive, you’ll be spending around $50 bucks for a full tank of gas, depending on the state. I’ve seen that California and Hawaii has gas prices that have skyrocketed. The most expensive gas prices in the United States are in Hawaii, for $4.37 per gallon. And we are complaining in Florida about our $3-4 we spend per gallon. If paying a lot for gas is getting too bad, learn to take the bus. Complaining wont magically lower the cost. So, if gas prices bother you THAT bad, I guess you can move to Venezuela, and use all the gas you want.
However, some other countries look enviously upon the US for our “cheap” gas prices. Japan’s average for gas is $7.03 per gallon! Now that’s expensive. Especially for a place like Japan, gas is required to have an efficient lifestyle. You think that’s bad? You haven’t seen anything yet. Norway has gas prices averaging at $9.69 per gallon. Now those are high gas prices. I know when you look at America, and the economy, things seem pretty dim. But, on the bright side, there is worse, and we have the potential to recover from our current state. So, next time you fill up your gas tank, consider yourself lucky, and keep your chin up, things can’t stay bad forever.
