            A night for recognition and remembrance of the past sports season, the Varsity fall sports banquet held on November 24 brought team members together with family and friends to admire individuals. The fall sports banquet took place in the auditorium and was hosted by the new Athletic Director, Susan Wiker. Speaking highly of each team and their progress of through out the season, she brought up individuals on each team to be recognized for various awards such as: Most Improved, Most Valuable, Sportsmanship, Four-Year Letter Award, and Most Outstanding.

            The following students received special recognition, on the Sideline Cheerleading team, Most Spirited: Bella Marino; Sportsmanship: Andie Hernandez; and Most Valuable: Angel Tirado.

Participants on the Golf team who were recognized were Most Valuable: Dana Menking; Most Valuable: Dalton Scott; Most Outstanding: Michael Barber; Most Improved: Mike Marshall; and Most Outstanding: Emily Gaylord.

Melissa Anninos received Most Valuable, as well as a Four-Year Letter Award; Lauren Sagiao was awarded Most Outstanding; and Heather Zapf was also awarded Most Outstanding for her partaking in the Volleyball team.

Receiving special acknowledgement for involvement on the Field Hockey team were the following: Sportsmanship: Dana Brookover; Most Valuable Offense and Four-Year Letter Award Sophie Karatisikis; Most Improved: Melanie Tenney; and Most Outstanding: Katie Kennedy.

Suzanne Merritt was awarded Most Improved, Alivia Urquhart was awarded Most Outstanding, Courtney Guy was awarded Most Valuable, and Emily Cowan was awarded Best Sportsmanship for competing on the Competition Cheerleading squad.

Receiving awards for participating in Cross Country were the following: Sportsmanship: Paul Sorrell; Most Outstanding: Kevin Carr; Most Valuable: Blake Finkenauer; Coaches Award: Mark Tilashalski; Most Outstanding: Christine Cabanas; Most Valuable: Leigh Ann Soistmann; Coaches Award: Diana Kinney; Sportsmanship: Amanda Jones; and Four-Year Letter Award: Abigail Fredericksen.

            Along with awards for athletes, Dan Byers was awarded the Sportsmanship Award. His contribution to the now annual Back-Yard Brawl, along with his spirit, support, and attendance to majority of the sporting events was highly recognized and appreciated by the athletes as well as the staff. Because of this he was awarded and thanked.

            Following the ceremony, athletes were released to dine with their team to food catered by the Briar Patch Tea Room. The menu consisted of Penne Pasta, Italian salad, rolls, and cake. After dining together they then were then released to separate rooms where coaches spoke and recognized their season’s highlighted moments. All the teams spent their final moments together as a team, as they remembered their season’s accomplishments and moments together.
