Mr. Wickwire

Granite Bay, California: Born in Long Beach, California, Mr. Wickwire is an outstanding teacher.

Mr. Wickwire currently teaches Physical Education classes at Olympus junior High School.  Luckily, he gets to teach his favorite subject every day, P.E.  Mr. Wickwire enjoys teaching P.E. because he gets to teach people sports that they may not have tried before.  “I also like P.E. because it exposes people to good, healthy, lifestyles,” said Mr. Wickwire.

If he had to choose one adjective to describe himself, Mr. Wickwire said he would choose tall.  I also found out that, although Mr. Wickwire was born in Long Beach, he grew up in Berkeley, California, and Santa Cruz, California.  Speaking of places, one of Mr. Wickwire’s favorite vacation destinations is: Cancun, Mexico.  If he could go anywhere, Mr. Wickwire said he would like to go to Switzerland. He says he would like to go there because it appears that there are a lot of rolling, green hills and snow capped mountains.  He also likes the holiday Fourth of July.

Mr. Wickwire enjoys anything that has to do with seeing a good family movie, drawing, and seeing students succeed.  When I asked what his favorite subject in school was when he was young, he said P.E.

          Mr. Wickwire enjoys teaching hockey in P.E. because he finds it enjoyable to shoot at the goal. He likes everything about hockey.

          “I decided to become a teacher in my senior year of high school,” is how Mr. Wickwire responded to the question: “When did you decide to become a teacher?” This decision was a good choice for anyone who has been in at any time or is in any of his Physical Education classes.

          Now, Mr. Wickwire has been teaching for twenty years and does an extraordinary job at it!
