The aurora borealis - Google images

January 24 would have been a beautiful night, if not for the rain. How you may ask it's because if there wasn't any rain we would have been able to see the Aurora Lights.
The aurora lights are ribbons of colors in the night sky that usually appears over the arctic and Antarctic. We could have seen them because of a powerful solar eruption sent a blast of charged particles towards the earth, one of the strongest solar storms since 2005. Most people didn't notice but the storm caused GPS to malfunction and satellites to go wonky. Thankfully that lasted from about 1:00 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon where we were asleep or in school. The only real bad part was the rain. All of the clouds blocked our view from the sky to be able to see the Aurora lights. That was one show we missed but the solar eruptions are supposed to continue. Maybe we can see them after all as long as we keep our eyes peeled.
