U2 captivates listeners new and old through their new album No Line On the Horizon.$0$0This new album has definitely left an impression on this die hard U2 fan. It will leave an impression on anyone who searches for enjoyment in life in the fast paced world of today.$0$0Out of the band’s thirteen albums, Horizon belongs at the top somewhere near The Joshua Tree and How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. U2 is true to its tangy rock sound but adds a new electronic twist. Songs like FEZ Being Born and the group’s single, Get On Your Boots are a mixture of both rock and electronic sounds. The band has adjusted to the new electronic sound successfully without losing its voice, even though it would be impossible for U2 to lose its authenticity through creativity.$0$0A true U2 fan simply cannot have just one favorite song because another one will be found in a week or two. As I listen to Magnificent, I feel captivated. I hear it and I love it. The renewal it provides is encouraging. So much happens in a U2 song that the music absorbs you. Upon hearing Horizon for the first time, feelings of enchantment and confusion emerge. The band’s songs such as, Unknown Caller and No Line On the Horizon prove the group’s total originality. Horizon offers nourishment for all listeners. $0$0Like raw rock pop, then try Get On Your Boots. If you prefer more serious melodies then take White as Snow. Listening to Moment of Surrender puts us in tune with Bono’s vent. He sings about some form of failure that is almost welcoming. It is easy for almost anyone to relate to the song.$0$0This ever evolving band is they are always willing to try new ways to bring out their own expandable style. Perhaps my favorite song of the moment is I’ll Go Crazy If I Don’t Go Crazy Tonight. A long and awkward title, but it works. The inviting beginning pushes you to have to travel with the song. Lyrics flow beautifully to form your thoughts. Even reciting every word calls new meaning each time you hear it. Listening to each song from Horizon you are never sure of the purpose and that is part of the beauty of it. The album can be anything you want it to be. It doesn’t fit any mold so the listener gives each song their own special meaning.$0$0The last song, Cedars of Lebanon may be just one of the spookiest songs the band has ever produced. It is similar to a dirge in that Bono seems to be speaking the lyrics in an eerie tone. A coldness overtakes and chills you inside out. $0$0Versatility of songs is another reason to love this album. Spooky songs like Lebanon that are followed by others like Stand Up Comedy which provide comic relief. This organization and song choice make the band’s new album a fun  listening experience.$0$0Bono and the band’s message behind Horizon is not about wars between nations but vision over visibility. The translation from Bono’s language is that you should go for your goal even if you may not know how to accomplish it. Just do it. I find this message very inspiring for those who see their destination but may be unsure about how to get there. Faith is all it takes, according to the band. It seems to have worked for them.$0$0The album’s discrete cover of a grey landscape with no horizon perhaps will help decipher the album just as much as talking to the band would. Horizon is great because its lyrics are poetic, original, and the music is beyond greatness. They produce their music for the sake of music, but their vibe just happens to channel to a wide audience. No Line On the Horizon is a journey through the unknown. Its songs are for enjoyment of the present.$0
