At-a-glance

Through shows like “Behind The Music” and “True Hollywood Stories.” The people constantly hear about how some little High School garage band makes it. Well here at creek we may be putting a few out there ourselves.

With Bands like “The Electrocuted Pleasure.” “Out-Break” and “Col. Sanders Mafia.” Our hopes for a hit filled band could come true.

The Electrocuted Pleasure is a band comprised of freshman whose main goal is to one day achieves an underground record deal. With their first major show in April, this band has made a local name for themselves by playing punk rock music.

“It’s energy, pure energy,” said Richi Void, who is the front man for the band.

Another local band, Outbreak, has already proven them-selves worthy of a record deal by playing their way to the top of the Battle of the Bands and continue with high hopes of doing as well as possible in the final rounds. Creek students, Will Enoch, Jay Hernandez, and Greg Austin, formed the band. This band’s success has excelled out-side of regular garage band expectations.

Another local band, Non-assembled, has also had recent success. Members Daniel Payne, Libby Sanders, Ryan Mitchell have showed off their skills at places such as, Pete’s barn, The Village Fair and even performed at private parties. Non-Assembled has been a band for almost 2 years. Their plans include, producing a C.D., and continuing to write music.

“Music just comes to us.” Says Ryan Mitchell, the drummer for Non-Assembled “its just music. There is no Genre.” Ryan says.

With influences like Neil Pert and Bands such as Dream-Theater, Ryan has learned to love music enough to create his own.

Each decade has it’s own generation of musicians. With the on going battle between Rap and Rock, it makes it difficult to tell what kind of music will shape our generation. Therefore we stand by our bands here at Creek and hope that they will shape our decade of music.
