Ms. Sconion is a teacher, real-estate agent, traveler, and a club/organization contributor. Judging from all these personal aspects she can easily be classified as super woman by her students.

“She’s a nice teacher who’s always there for us and she gives us skittles,” Eddie Summerville, sophomore, said.

“She helps us when we need help and she’s a wonderful person,” Lauren Rierson, freshman, said.

“Ms. Sconion is one of those exceptional teachers, one that even though she has a slightly lenient personality is still a notable teacher and you learn,” Robert Carter, senior, said.

Ms. Sconion has been a teacher at our school for quite some time. She taught at Edgewood High School for 24 years, then transferred to Fallston for two years, and then returned to Edgewood just last year. She’s taught for more than 25 years at Edgewood High, bringing a lot of life to the school.

“I love Edgewood High school…It’s like a mini – America. This school is full of diversity and originality. Everyone is so friendly, warm, and generally nice people. The teachers are always there for one another.”

Ms. Sconion, after being away from Edgewood for 2 years, came back to help with our renowned Academy of Finance Program. She teaches Principles of Business Management, Banking and Credit, and first semester Economics.

Aside from teaching, she also heads Mock Trial and helps with the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Although Edgewood is a big part of Ms. Scconion’s life, there are other things the shaped her to be who she is today.

Ms. Sconion grew up on a small farm in North Carolina. She became a “semi-vegetarian” due to an incident that occurred on the farm when she was young girl. Her father happened to slaughter her favorite pig and ever since has not eaten pig.

Lucky for her there was more than just animals on the farm. There were many fruit trees and bushes, vegetables, grape vines, and a beautiful garden for scenery.

She graduated from John Hopkins University of Baltimore with a master’s degree in economics. Believe it or not, she was in a sorority, The Delta Sigma sorority.

Besides teaching, she enjoys meditating, yoga, writing, and listening to motivational speakers. Many of her favorite speakers include Dr. Wayne Dire and Zig Zigloo.

She also likes to travel to exotic and foreign lands. One of her main goals is to visit every state in the United States of America. But ever since 9/11 she hasn’t wanted to travel that much, so for now her goal will have to wait.

Ms. Sconion is a very well rounded woman who has accomplished a lot. Yes, she teaches but she has more than one job. In truth she makes more money with her part- time job as a real state agent for Century 21 than as a teacher.

People always ask her “why do you continue to teach when you make more money with real estate?” In the end she always responds the same “I love teaching and I love the students I teach”.

“I have known and taught with Mrs.Sconion for over 20 years. She is an excellent teacher, a great real-estate agent and a good friend,” Ms.Kustanbauter said.

“Ms.Sconion is a very dedicated teacher and I assume she she is a very dedicated in her other profession in the office” Mr.Hunter said.

She is very successful with her real – estate job, she’s been doing it for about 10 years now. She has worked hard and it shows for she is now #3 in her office out of 50 people.

“Selling is my passion” Ms Sconion said.

Ms. Sconion seems to be loved by many of her students, she must be proud of her accomplishments.

“I love to teach and its wonderful that the kids love me , I just love kids and I hope to teach them something that will stick with them there whole lives” Ms.Sconion said.
