The old adage goes, “Home is where the heart is,” and on Friday, April 20, Perry Hall High was “home.”
“The purpose of the Red Out game is to raise awareness of The American Heart Association’s work for heart health including CPR courses and research on heart conditions,” said Lacrosse coach Mr. Letnaunchyn.
Perry Hall High’s Red Out Day was hosted by the Girls' Lacrosse teams and was supported by the American Heart Association.
“The Red Out game is in honor of Breanna Sudano who underwent heart surgery for a congenital heart condition, which caused her to collapse during a Junior Varsity game on the field,” stated Letnaunchyn.
Wristbands were provided by the AHA, and t-shirts were sold during lunch shifts in order to raise money to donate in Sudano’s name. Shirts were sold for $7.00 for players and students and $10.00 for parents and family members, while the wrist bands were $1.00 each.
“This event will increase awareness about heart health and will allow students to become active members of their community,” commented Coach Letnaunchyn.
