Although 2002 HHS grad Sean Forrister’s life was cut short by a tragic car accident, his memory continues to live on through those who knew him.

Don Kaulitzs’ life was particularly touched by Forrister’s life. “He had the biggest heart of anyone I ever met,” said Kaulitz. Forrister showed compassion and kindness to anyone he ever met, treating every person with respect.

Not only was Forrister kind-hearted, but according to Jan Tichenor he was a “wordsmith.” “He brought so much creativity to the words we wrote in calligraphy,” said Tichenor.

Forrister inspired those around him, especially in his calligraphy class. He would encourage others to express themselves through art.

Kaulitz likes to remember the student and friend he lost, through fond memories. One such memory was when Forrister was in Kaulitzs’ pottery class.

Kaulitz remembers Forrister being “over anxious” to get his piece of pottery out of the kiln, so he took it out at 900 degrees instead of the cooled 200 degrees.

“I said Sean, what’s that smell?” said Kaulitz with a smile as he recalled the story. Forrister had set his piece of extremely hot pottery on the counter. Kaulitz now has an everlasting reminder of Forrister through a burn spot on the pottery counter.

Rather than mourning the loss of a life, celebrate the life that was lived. Although he was only here for a short time, Sean Forrister has touched many lives and will always remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
