As the school year draws near it's end, the students gather at the annual Spring Show, at which the multiple dance organization join forces to show off their moves and give the crowd a good time.
"I was definitely looking forward to this event as I do every year," says junior Ronald Taylor, "it was very entertaining."
The multitude enters the auditorium with a gleam of excitement and curiosity as to what the night's spectacle may bring them. With the JACKET-TV crew setup and the dancers no where in sight, it is clear that the show is about to begin.
"I think its going to be awesome and lots of fun!" said junior Jessica Arenas. The crowd would certainly agree after the Jacketeers' opening number of "Human" by The Killers, after which all the crowd burst into cheers.
They proved to all just how big a deal being grand champions really is. "The Jacketeers have been working really hard this year," says sponsor Ms. Terri Hernandez, "they want to show everyone what they've been up to."
The Jacketeers became the center of attention at the spring show with their many diverse and entertaining performances. "I enjoyed the Jacketeers when they danced the first and last dances," said junior Richard Polio.
Not to be outdone, the Ballet Folklorico and Freestyle Dance Crew also took part in the event, giving the viewers a taste of their dazzling moves. "We were planning on showing everyone that the Ballet Folklorico group could come up with fresh new stuff and isn't all about traditional dances," said senior Joel Barcenas.
The night rapidly drew near its end and brought the curtain to a close, the spectators applauded and hugged their entertainers, their daughters. Although the ticket prices were a little "up there" in today's economic perspective, but it didn't seem to matter, the crowd felt they got their money's worth and much more. "When I saw the crowd leaving and waving at us it made me feel good to see them enjoy the show so much," said Joel.
