Some of the students from the Theater Arts Department put on a Variety Show in May. There was singing, dancing and acting. For the Theater II classes through Theater IV, putting on this show was their final exam. The actors had fun performing and plan on doing it again next year too.
"At first I was nervous up there, but once I got a little more comfortable in front of people the acting became more fun. My favorite act to do was the last one, it was very good and I liked it a lot," sophomore Charlysia Washington said.
"I was nervous when I first got up there, but the seniors were very nice and encouraging and that helped me out a lot. I plan on doing the show again next year," sophomore Raisa Tillis said.
"I felt excited and nervous and sad all at the same time, and I was crying in the beginning because I was very frustrated. My favorite part of the show was the ending. It meant a lot to me," sophomore Celeste Ramirez said.
"I felt excited because it was my first variety show and I've never experienced anything like it. My favorite act was the closing act because it was touching," senior Veronica Gutierrez said.
A lot of students seemed to like the variety show, others thought things weren't as good as last year's show.
"The variety show was good, but it seemed better last year. I didn't understand some of the skits," junior Emonie Denman said.
"It was awesome and it kept me interested the whole time. It was very entertaining and I loved it. I will definitely be back next year to see it again," senior Johnaphan Woods said.
"I thought the variety show was funny. My favorite part was when they made fun of my ex-principlal since elementary," junior Johnnie Price said.
