Mr. McCune: Man of Few Words
Interview with local high school Social Studies teacher.
Q; So, how do you like teaching biology?
A:I don’t teach biology.
Q: What do you teach?
A: Social Studies.
Q: What led you to being a teacher at MSHS?
A: Well I was a student teacher for Ken Vecchio five years ago, and to be honest, this district is much better than the others.
Q: Have other teachers subjected you to any hazing or induction rituals?
A: There was that assembly.
Q: Have you made any friends?
A: I spend most of the time with other Social Studies teachers so I’d say they’re my friends.
Q: How do you like your classroom?
A: I could use some windows.
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: I have a little dachshund hound. It’s my wife‘s.
Q: Who is your favorite astronaut?
A: I like the guys who were the first to the moon. That opened a lot of doors.
Q: How do you feel about Tim Tebow?
A: He’s just not there yet. Orton’s much better. Tebow has some potential though.
Q: What is your homework policy?
A: It depends on the class, but overall I’d say I don’t give much.
Q: What is your favorite racehorse name?
A: Sea biscuit comes to mind.
Q: Twisty-tops or clicky pens?
A: Clicky pens, definitely. It’s like a nervous tick.
