The forest green complements the rural setting of the building perfectly. However, the shocking yellow-orange doesn’t quite work as well. While there may be some problems with our much-improved new school, a lack of colors and sounds isn’t one of them. From the time you drive past the delightful wildflowers in the morning, it hits you – this is no bland building with 49 1/4 trailers. While it is somewhat disconcerting that the school is out where the road is so boring they had to plant flowers to liven things up, it’s nice to be assaulted with the range of yellows and purples and maroons rather than a steady line of trailers.

When you step onto Main Street, enchanting tunes flow into your ears; the elevator music makes the place feel like so much like…home. As you walk around, you have the opportunity to sit in a pleasant navy blue classroom, stroll along an agreeable green hall, or pass the vibrantly red auditorium area – priceless. Finally, after first block, the tinkling of the new bells sound; while it grows somewhat obnoxious after about a minute of binging, at least it’s a quiet ring.

By the end of the day, one almost feels like you’re leaving an art and music school. Then, you return to the real world: homework without Beethoven in the background.
