“And there came a day, a day unlike any other... when Earth's mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat... to fight the foes no single superhero could withstand... on that day, The Avengers were born.”
“The Avengers” is about a villain named Loki (Tom Hiddleston) who came to overthrow the throne of Asgard, where he resides, by making a revenge plot against, not only his brother Thor(Chris Hemsworth), but against Earth. This makes for a disastrous ending but director of S.H.I.E.L.D., an international peacekeeping organization, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) decides to create the ultimate superhero team called the Avengers. The team consists of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). They have to figure out how to work together as a team to overcome the battle that Loki has prepared for them.
“The Avengers” has proven to be worthy of the money it has made. In its opening weekend alone the film made $207,438,708. That amount broke the previous opening weekend record by at least $40 million dollars. The critics have even grown fond of this movie. They say that it has everything that they desired in “The Avengers”. Also this film is more than just action, but has the perfect mix of humor, chemistry, passion, and dedication.
Five years ago, Marvel superheroes hit the big screen ready to dominate and they did just that. The film that has been in the making for five years is officially here and definitely worth the wait. “The Avengers” is well worth the money and time to watch it. Stay after both sets of credits to get a sneak peek at the plot of The Avengers 2. I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars. Congratulations to Joss Whedon for writing and directing the ultimate superhero film.
