Drugs are bad! This overused statement seems to be getting old, however, the premise behind it still remains! Drugs harm lives and the loved ones family, so why do they do it? According to Understanding Psychology, there are some drugs that don’t have an actual addicting substance, but you can become physically and psychologically addicted very easy. In this book, it also states that those under the effects of drugs had lower GPA than those who were drug free. If doing well in school isn’t enough, one big reason people should stay away from drugs is because they are ILLEGAL! Depending on the substance, penalties range from small fines to jail time according to Justice.gov. So now one may ask how to avoid falling into temptation.
One way you can avoid drugs is have a strong mental attitude that you will not do drugs. Everyone should know the cons that drugs have on a person, so everyone should understand them and try to avoid them. The second tip is similar to the first, but one should avoid peer pressure at all costs. It would make sense how that could be the number one reason why kids are tempted with drugs. Its not cool kids! No matter how you put it, it will negatively impact personal life and they harm the human body in various ways.
Overall, keeping a positive outlook on staying away from drugs is probably the best option to stay off them. Avoid peer pressure at all costs, because they aren’t real friends if they attempt to coax someone into taking drugs. From alcohol to marijuana, all consciousness-altering substances are things worth staying away from because they may be pleasing at first, but torment the human body psychologically and physically throughout life.
