Several Melissa ISD students took part in live stock shows, as well as art events in the 2011 Collin county youth show. Also for the first time Melissa was represented in the creative art division.  With a number of astonishing photos Stormie Fox and Sae Ariga repped for Melissa high in the photography class of the show. In the ceramic arts class, Shawn Minchey and Regan Jefferies placed in second. Another Melissa high student that deserves recognition would be Nicole Denton for placing in first place with her beautiful painting. She was also awarded top spot in the senior division. In the live stock show Nikita Gross placed 3^rd in class and 4^th in division, thanks to her exotic steer entered in the cattle division. Taking 2^nd place in the same division Issac Gross with his first entery in show. So from Melissa high’s very own newspaper class, congratulations to all the MHS and Melissa ISD that placed. We would also like to thank all those that participated in the Collin County Youth Show and represented Melissa ISD.
