Baseball: Hawks win first place in Union Grove tournament

The Hawks won the 2012 Union Grove Baseball Tournament, marking the first time the Hawks have come home with a first place tournament title under the leadership of Coach Marty Mayfield.

Game 1: Hawks 6 vs Gilmer JV 0. Shane Green pitched a great game, giving up 1 hit, no runs, 1 walk, and striking out 15. At the plate, Skyler Phillips was 2-3 with 2 RBI's.

Game 2: Hawks 10 vs Union Grove 4. Chris Beall got the win on the mound, giving up no hits and striking out 7. At the plate, Chris was 2-4 with 6 RBI's. Skyler Phillips and John Michael Gattis had 2 RBI's each.

Championship: Game 3: Hawks 12 vs Como-Pickton 2. Derek Craft pitched 6 innings and had 13 strikeouts and only 1 walk. At the plate, Derek was 2-3 with 3 RBI's. Michael Kocher was 2-3 with 5 RBI's.
